Create pins for your posts
Ask for image and video pins for one post, the posts you select or all posts, pick the image source, and add one more pin to a post in one click.
The Create pins panel is how you ask for pins yourself, whatever your pin rules say. New pins always land in the review queue; nothing is published before you approve it.
Open the panel
In Posts:
- Create pins at the top asks for all your posts, or all posts of the blog picked in the blog filter.
- Tick the boxes of some posts, then press Create pins in the bar that appears.
- Create pins on a post's row asks for that post only. While its pins are being made, the row shows Pins on the way instead.
On a phone the panel fills the screen; on a computer it opens at the side.
The green Create pins button in the top bar (in the middle of the tab bar on a phone) is a different tool with the same name: it imports posts by their address. See Import posts by address.
What the panel asks
- Image pins: 0 to 10 per Pinterest account. The pins a post already has count.
- Video pins: 0 to 3, with the month's video quota under it, for example "7 of 20 left this month". If you ask for more than is left, it adds "the rest wait for next month".
- Image source: Post images, AI images or Let Bloomtack pick. AI images needs an AI key for images; without one, the panel links to Add one in AI keys. Your AI provider bills each image on your own key.
- Keywords: for one post, its focus keyword and extra keywords. Each extra keyword gets a pin of its own. Removing one here deletes that keyword from the post, with 10 seconds to undo. A post with no focus keyword yet gets pins made from its title.
The counts start from your pin rules, or from the blog's own rules when all the posts are on one blog.
Check the total and confirm
The panel sums up what you asked for, for example "12 posts · up to 36 image pins · 12 video pins", and the button says Create up to 48 pins. For all posts, or more than 10 posts, it asks once more ("This asks for pins for 12 posts."): press Yes, create up to 48 pins, or Back to change the counts. With both counts at 0, the panel asks for at least one image pin or video pin.
After you confirm, Bloomtack says "New pins will be in the review queue in a few minutes." and the posts show Pins on the way.
Posts turned off for pins are named and skipped. Press Turn it on or Turn them on to include them. For all posts, the panel gives only their number.
One more pin for a post
Each post has two one-click actions:
- On its row, press the ⋯ button, then New image pin or New video pin.
- Or press History on the row; the pin history shows the same two buttons.
Bloomtack makes one more pin of that kind with the post's rules and image source, even when every angle is covered. An image pin is in the review queue in a few minutes; a video pin once it is made. When the month's videos are used up, the new video waits for next month.
Good to know
- One post can have up to 10 new image pins on the way. Past that, New image pin says "10 new image pins are already on the way for this post."
- A workspace can ask for 100 new image pins a day. The 101st says "This workspace asked for 100 new image pins today. Try again tomorrow."
- A post has one new video on the way at a time.
- A post turned off for pins gets no new pin until you turn Make pins for this post back on.
- Owners, admins and editors can create pins.
