Pin history and fresh pins
How Bloomtack keeps older posts alive with fresh pins, and how to see a post's pins or pause its fresh pins.
Pinterest rewards fresh pins, and your older posts still deserve traffic. Bloomtack designs new pins for them over time.
Which posts get pins next
- New posts first.
- Then posts that were never pinned.
- Then posts due for a fresh pin: when their last pin is older than 30 days, or 14 days for posts whose pins do better than your account's average.
A post with a season coming up (such as a pumpkin recipe in September) moves ahead of the other due posts.
Every fresh pin is new
A fresh pin is a new pin of the same post with a new design. It always has a different design, a different headline angle and a different board from the post's last pin. The same image and link never post twice. Each post gets at most 4 fresh pins in any 30 days.
Pin history
In Posts, each post's row sums up its pins, for example "pinned 3 times, last on Sep 10, best: Design C". Press History to see every published pin of the post: the date, the design, the board and its result, such as "400 impressions, 12 clicks".
Pause fresh pins
In a post's History, turn on Pause fresh pins for a post that is out of season or no longer current. The row then says "fresh pins paused", and no fresh pins are made for it until you turn the switch off. Owners, admins and editors can change it.
Posts whose page stops loading are skipped until the link works again.
Good to know
Fresh pins still need your approval, like every pin. Create pins on a post, or for all posts, counts the pins a post already has toward what you ask for. New image pin and New video pin in a post's Pin history add one more on purpose. See Create pins for your posts.
