Connect your Pinterest account

Connect the Pinterest account your pins are published to, through Pinterest's official sign-in. Bloomtack never asks for your Pinterest password.

Video guide: Get set up in five minutes (1:45, no sound).

Bloomtack publishes pins through Pinterest's official API. You approve the connection on Pinterest's own site, and you can disconnect at any time.

Before you start

  • You need to be an owner or admin of the workspace.
  • On Pinterest, sign in to the account you want to publish to. If you manage several Pinterest accounts, make sure the right one is signed in, because Pinterest connects the account that is signed in.
  • You need a Pinterest business account, which is free. Bloomtack connects only business accounts, because Pinterest shares pin results only with them. See Business or personal account.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Pinterest accounts.
  2. Press Connect Pinterest.
  3. Pinterest opens and shows what Bloomtack asks for. Press Give access (Pinterest's wording can change).
  4. You come back to Bloomtack and see "Pinterest account connected." with the account name.

Right after connecting, Bloomtack asks once whether it may read the account's top pins and boards to pick better starting designs. See The one-time account audit.

Connect another account

Press Connect Pinterest at the top of the page after signing in to the other account on Pinterest. Each account appears as its own row in the Accounts list.

If something goes wrong

Bloomtack explains every failed connection on the Pinterest accounts screen:

  • "Nothing was connected. Bloomtack needs a Pinterest business account.": the account you signed in with is a personal account. Convert it with How to get a business account, then connect again.
  • "Pinterest access was not granted": you pressed cancel on Pinterest. Try again when you are ready.
  • "Only workspace owners and admins can connect Pinterest accounts": ask an owner or admin, or ask for a role change.
  • "The connection request expired or came from another tab": start again from the Pinterest accounts screen, in one tab.
  • "Pinterest did not confirm the connection": wait a minute and try again. Pinterest is sometimes busy.
