Error IDs and getting help
Every error in Bloomtack comes with a plain message and a short ID such as BT-7K3F-9Q2M. Send the ID to support and we can find exactly what happened.
When something goes wrong, Bloomtack tells you what happened and what to do next. Most messages come with an error ID.
What an error looks like
A box with a short message, for example "Bloomtack could not reach the site. Check the address and try again.", and below it:
"Error ID BT-7K3F-9Q2M. Send it to support if this keeps happening."
Most boxes also have a Try again button.
What to do
- Read the message. It usually says what to fix, such as a wrong address or a missing permission.
- Press Try again. Many problems, such as a site that was briefly down, go away on their own.
- If it keeps happening, copy the error ID. On a computer, click the ID once to select it; on a phone, press and hold it.
- Open Help in the small menu at the foot of the sidebar and press Contact support, or on a phone open More and then Help and support. Your latest error IDs are added for you; add a sentence about what you were doing. You can also email the ID to hello@bloomtack.com. See Contact support from the app.
Why the ID helps
The ID points to exactly one event on our side: the time, the screen and the technical details. Support can look it up in seconds instead of asking you for screenshots, and it contains nothing private, so it is safe to send.
What support never asks for
- Your password or two-factor codes.
- Your AI keys or your WordPress site key.
- Access to your Pinterest account.
If someone asks for these in Bloomtack's name, do not send them, and tell us at hello@bloomtack.com.
Good to know
- When Bloomtack cannot load a whole screen, the message appears where the screen's content would be; the rest of the app keeps working.
- Problems with your blog's feed or plugin are also shown on the blog's status line. See Fix blog sync problems.
