Connect the WordPress plugin

Install Bloomtack Connector, paste your site key, and your posts arrive with their outline and focus keyword.

The Bloomtack Connector plugin sends your published posts to Bloomtack: the title, description, outline (your H2 headings), images, category and focus keyword. Pins made from this are sharper than pins made from a feed alone.

The plugin only sends posts. It never publishes anything, and it never changes your blog. It needs WordPress 6.5 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer.

Download the plugin

Download the plugin. It is one file, bloomtack-connector.zip. Do not unzip it: WordPress installs the zip as it is. The same Download plugin button is on the Plugin tab of your blog in Bloomtack.

The Plugin tab shows the plugin's version and the file's SHA-256 checksum. To check your copy, run shasum -a 256 bloomtack-connector.zip on a Mac or Linux, or certutil -hashfile bloomtack-connector.zip SHA256 on Windows, and compare the result.

Steps

In Bloomtack, add your blog and choose Add with the WordPress plugin. See Add a blog. The blog opens on its Plugin tab.
Press Download plugin on the Plugin tab (or use the link above).
In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, press Choose File, pick bloomtack-connector.zip, then press Install Now and Activate Plugin.
In Bloomtack, press Copy key on the Plugin tab.
In WordPress, open Settings → Bloomtack, paste the key and press Connect.

WordPress shows "Connected. Your latest 50 posts are on their way to Bloomtack." In Bloomtack, the blog's status changes from "Waiting for the plugin to send posts." to "Synced" with the time.

What happens next

Each time you publish or update a post, the plugin sends it in the background, usually within a minute.
Every night, the plugin sends anything it missed, as a backup.
Drafts, private posts and password-protected posts are never sent.
Resync latest 50 posts in the plugin's settings sends your 50 newest posts again.

Get a newer version

The plugin does not update itself yet. To get a newer version, download the plugin again and upload it the same way: WordPress asks whether to replace the current version. Your site key and settings stay.

Keep the key private

Anyone who has the site key can send posts into your workspace. Only owners and admins can see it in Bloomtack. Never paste it into a support chat, a forum or a screenshot. If you think it leaked, email hello@bloomtack.com right away.

If something goes wrong

"That is not a Bloomtack site key": copy the key again with Copy key and paste it without spaces.
"This key belongs to ...": the key was made for another blog address. Add this blog as its own blog in Bloomtack and use its key.
Posts do not arrive: in WordPress, check Settings → Bloomtack under Connection and Last sync. Then press Resync latest 50 posts. See Fix blog sync problems.
To stop sending: press Disconnect in the plugin's settings. The key and any queued sends are removed from your blog.
