Roles and permissions
What owners, admins, editors, reviewers and viewers can do in a workspace, and how many seats your plan includes.
Every member of a workspace has one role. The role decides what they can see and change.
The five roles
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including billing, support access and deleting the workspace. |
| Admin | Everything except billing, support access and deleting the workspace: Pinterest connections, site keys, the team, exports. |
| Editor | Pins, posts, the schedule and boards: they edit pins, review and approve them, add and sync blogs and see the team. |
| Reviewer | See the workspace and its results, and approve or reject pins. |
| Viewer | See the workspace and its results. They change nothing. |
The person who creates a workspace is its owner. Owners can invite people with any role; admins can invite editors, reviewers and viewers.
Viewers
The viewer role is for someone who wants to follow along: a client, a partner or a colleague who checks the results.
- They see the Dashboard, the review queue, the calendar, blogs, posts and Analytics, but they cannot change anything there. The review queue says "You can view this queue; an editor or reviewer approves pins".
- They get the read-only notices and the weekly summary, never the "to review" notices.
- They do not see Settings → Team: it says "Viewers do not see the team".
Why Pinterest is limited to owners and admins
Connecting a Pinterest account lets Bloomtack publish to it, and the WordPress site key lets anyone who holds it send posts into the workspace. Both stay with the people responsible for the workspace.
When you do not have the role for an action, Bloomtack says so on the screen, for example "Only workspace owners and admins can connect or disconnect accounts." Ask an owner or admin to do it, or to change your role.
Seats
Each person in your workspaces takes one seat, and so does each invitation that is still waiting for an answer. Seats are counted across all the workspaces of your plan, and a person who is in two of them takes one seat, not two.
| Plan | Seats |
|---|---|
| Starter | 2 |
| Pro | 5 |
| Business | 10 |
| Agency | 20 |
| Enterprise | 40 |
| Founding Member | 5 |
| AppSumo Tier 1 | 1 |
| AppSumo Tier 2 | 2 |
| AppSumo Tier 3 | 3 |
| AppSumo Tier 4 | 5 |
| AppSumo Tier 5 | 10 |
Settings → Team shows the count, for example "3 of 5 seats used, including 1 pending invitation", and how many seats are left. When every seat is taken, it says "All 5 seats are used. Remove a member or revoke an invitation to invite someone." Revoking an invitation that nobody has answered frees its seat at once.
Good to know
- Roles are per workspace. You can be an owner in one and a viewer in another.
- Inviting people and changing roles happens in Settings → Team. See Invite your team.
