Winning designs explained
How Bloomtack tests designs on your account, what "chance of being best" means, and when a design wins.
Video guide: Read your results and winning designs (1:40, no sound).
Bloomtack does not guess which pin style your readers like. It tests designs on your own account and uses more of the ones that earn outbound clicks.
Designs being tested
Each account starts with 8 designs: 6 from our starter library for your niche and 2 built on your brand kit, including at least one video design. Your answer to the one-time account audit can shape these starting designs. See The one-time account audit.
Learning
At first every design takes turns, until each has about 1,000 impressions. Design learning on the Overview tab of Analytics shows the progress, and the Designs tab shows it next to each design. Pinterest spreads new pins slowly, so this takes a few weeks.
Chance of being best
After that, each design shows its chance of being your best design: how often it came out on top in 10,000 draws from its click results so far, on pins aged 7 to 60 days. Bloomtack uses more of the likely winners, but keeps at least 1 pin in 5 for the others, so a late bloomer can still win. Every post gets pins in at least 2 designs, so designs are compared on the same topic.
Winners
When a design reaches a 90 % chance of being best, it is declared the winner, for example "Design C wins: +18% outbound click rate vs your average".
New challengers
Every 14 days Bloomtack adds 2 new designs, each a small change to the leader: another font, headline length or image type, for example. Designs with less than a 5 % chance after 2,000 impressions retire. At most 8 designs are active at once.
Your data stays yours
Each Pinterest account learns on its own. Results never mix between accounts or customers.
