The setup checklist
The steps on your dashboard that take a new workspace from empty to ready for its first pins.
Video guide: Get set up in five minutes (1:45, no sound).
A new workspace shows Get set up at the top of the dashboard. It lists the steps that get Bloomtack ready to design pins for your blog, with a bar and a count such as "2 of 5 done".
The steps
- Connect Pinterest. The account your pins are published to. Press Connect and approve Bloomtack on Pinterest. See Connect your Pinterest account.
- Add your blog. Bloomtack imports your posts and turns them into pin designs. Press Add. See Add a blog.
- Check your brand kit. Bloomtack reads your colors, fonts and logo from the blog. Press Open, make sure they look right and save. See Your brand kit.
- Approve 3 pins. The title counts them, such as "Approve 3 pins (1 of 3)". Press Review to open the review queue.
- Your first pin goes live. Once you approve pins, they get a time and go out. Press Calendar to see when.
The next step to do has the highlighted button. Steps you finished are crossed out with a check mark. Under the steps, See all setup steps opens the full list, which also has the optional steps: connecting an AI key, mapping categories to boards and choosing your posting pace. An AI key is your own key from an AI provider such as Google Gemini or OpenRouter; you pay the provider directly, and Bloomtack works fully without one.
Who can do each step
- Connecting Pinterest needs an owner or admin of the workspace.
- Adding a blog and editing the brand kit can be done by owners, admins and editors.
- Approving pins can be done by owners, admins, editors and reviewers.
If a button does nothing for you, ask the workspace owner to do that step or to change your role. See Roles and permissions.
When is the checklist gone?
When all five steps are done, the panel says You are set up, and you can press Hide checklist to remove it from the dashboard. You can undo that for a few seconds. An AI key does not count towards the five; you can add one later in Settings, AI keys.
Good to know
- You can do the steps in any order, and on your phone as well as on a computer.
- Each workspace has its own checklist, because each has its own blog and Pinterest account.
