Your brand kit
The colors, fonts, logo and domain badge Bloomtack reads from your blog and uses on every pin, and how to change them.
Video guide: Get set up in five minutes (1:45, no sound).
Each blog has a brand kit, so its pins look like they belong to your blog. Bloomtack reads it from your blog when you add it; you can change anything afterwards.
What is in a brand kit
- Logo address: an
https://link to your logo image, or empty for no logo. You can also choose a file under Upload a logo and press Upload logo: PNG, JPEG, WebP or SVG, up to 2 MB. - Primary, Background and Accent: three colors, read from your blog's design and logo. Primary is for bands and headlines, Background sits behind the text of some designs, and Accent is for numbers, lines and the Steps design.
- Fonts: a heading and body font pair close to your blog's style, for example Lora and Source Sans 3.
- Domain badge: the address printed on every pin, such as
crumbandkettle.com. Up to 60 characters.
Open a brand kit
Go to Settings → Brand kit and press Edit brand kit next to the blog. It opens the blog's Brand kit tab. You can also get there from Blogs, the blog, then Brand kit.
Right after you add a blog, the tab says "Reading your blog's brand" for up to a minute.
Change it
- Change any field. Pick colors with the color picker, or type a color code such as
#1f6f5c. - Watch the small preview on the right follow your changes.
- Press Save brand kit. You see "Brand kit saved."
A label shows where the kit came from: "Read from your blog", "Edited by your team", or "Default colors: we could not read the blog".
Read it from the blog again
Press Extract again after you redesign your blog. If your team edited the kit, Bloomtack first warns "This replaces your edits." Press Replace my edits to go ahead, or Keep them. The kit updates within a minute.
Your edits are never overwritten without that question.
Who can change it
Owners, admins and editors.
Good to know
- Every pin design uses the kit's colors, and Bloomtack checks that text stays readable on them. If a combination is too faint, it adds a darker band behind the text.
- The brand kit of the sample workspace, Sample: Crumb & Kettle, uses deep green
#1f6f5c, cream#f4ecdfand red#c0392b.
