Choose where pin images come from
Your post's images, stock photos, text-only and list designs, or AI images on your own key, and how to pick per post or for the workspace.
A pin needs a background. Bloomtack can take it from several places, and tries the kinds that suit each post.
The image sources
- Your post's images: the featured image and the photos inside the post.
- Stock photos: from Unsplash, Pexels and Pixabay, searched with the post's keyword and title. Their licence and credit are stored with each photo.
- Text only: a clean background in your brand colors, no photo.
- List designs: numbered lists, steps or checklists with small icons, made from the post's headings. They need at least three headings.
- AI images: a background generated from your post on your own AI key, marked "AI". Only offered when your workspace has a key picked for images. See AI images.
The three choices
- Let Bloomtack pick (the default): Bloomtack tries post images, stock photos, text only and list designs, and keeps what works best.
- Post images: pins use only the images that are already in your post.
- AI images: pins use a new image from your AI provider. It bills each image on your own key, and AI pins are labelled as AI.
Where to choose
- For the workspace: open Settings, then Writing. Pin images sets where the images of new pins come from. Owners and admins change it; everyone else can read it.
- For one post: in Posts, open the post's History and use Pin images for this post. Same as the workspace setting puts the post back on the workspace choice.
- When you make pins: the Create pins panel has an Image source row.
A choice applies to pins made from now on. Pins already made keep their images. AI images is greyed out until a key is picked for the AI images task under Settings, then AI keys.
Which one to use
- A food blog with good photos, like Crumb & Kettle: Post images or Let Bloomtack pick.
- A blog with few photos of its own: Let Bloomtack pick, so stock photos and list designs fill in.
- If you want unique backgrounds and have an AI key: AI images, for the workspace or for selected posts.
Good to know
- Bloomtack never uses images from other people's pins.
- If a post has no usable images and stock finds nothing, text-only and list designs still work.
